This talk will look at five steps involved in online dating, right up to eventually meeting face-to-face.  It will look at issues such as which website to use, constructing an online dating profile, and how and what to say in sending a message before meeting.  It will also examine ‘relationship scripts’ used in romantic attraction for example what our eyes, faces, body orientation and gestures indicate.  This talk will also provide some insights into the psychology behind the types of ‘opening lines’ people use in attempted courtship and flirtation.  It concludes by assessing what can happen when we meet face to face for the first time.
