About the speaker
Originally starting as a PE teacher and playing sport at a high level work ended up taking me into the world of sports and corporate management and the elite sport world supporting athletes competing at the world’s most prestigious sporting events. Though this sounds glamourous burn out from stress and mad working hours developed my interest in all things mental wellbeing and from there a passion to spread some of the lessons I have learnt to help others has started!
“What’s in your Bucket ?”
Working in both management and the elite sport spheres I tend to live life at 100 mph (apparently even my facebook posts makes others feel tired) till life gave me a bit of a warning and burn out hit! I realised that using the saying “ remember to fill your cup as you can’t fill from an empty cup” was no longer applicable to me as I didn’t so much have an empty cup as a bucket that was full of other stuff with holes in the bottom for the water to run through. Talking through the lessons I learnt about my burn out this talk aims to provoke others into asking what’s in their bucket and what are they doing about helping the bucket to become lighter and more fun!
