When my husband Nick was diagnosed with Myeloma at the end of my BVC course and was subsequently refused funding for treatment by the Welsh Assembly Government I successfully appealed the decision. I then became involved with the charities which had supported us. I edited Patient leaflets for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research (now Bloodwise).
I was President of the Motorcycle Society at Swansea University in the 1980’s and am now President of Rogerstone Roses Womens’ Institute. I was born and raised in Lancashire and diagnosed with a thyroid disorder in my 20’s so I talk a lot, very quickly, and wave my hands around at the same time to make my meaning clearer.
