About Eleanor Speer

I’m Eleanor, a twenty-something-year-old University student from the border of Wales and England. I’m passionate about education, as a future teacher myself now studying in Cardiff. I’m even more passionate about raising awareness of the chronic and ‘invisible’ illnesses that affect up to 15% of young people. Combining these two passions of mine together has given me a drive to raise awareness and educate the public on how invisible illnesses affect students of any age. Living with an invisible illness myself since the age of 15, I’ve created an online support community which has now reaches over 1100 followers of other young people who are fighting similar battles. I’ve also written articles for publications around the topics of Chronic pain. After teaching myself and passing all of my GCSE’s and A Levels mostly from home and a hospital bed I want to make sure no other student out there who is already fighting for their health feels like they have to fight the system for an opportunity to be educated. After all, I believe education should never be conditional.
