Alexandra AKA Sasha

Biography

Alexandra Cowell, known colloquially as Sasha, imposed herself upon Cardiff 10 years ago, and has refused to move since, although, she would probably say she “graced Cardiff with her presence”…good thing she doesn’t write her own biogs. Originally a flautist, Sasha is now an opera singer and actor, having discovered the dangers to one’s career of taking out the rubbish. She also coaches singing, languages and performance. In keeping with her unpredictable life, Sasha landed the Ignite compere position off the back of her fully improvised speech about what she would do if she were in No. 10. She would really like to insert a hilarious joke here about how she made said speech the day after Liz Truss took office, and you know, that didn’t last long, etc etc. Suggestions on a postcard please. Sasha is experienced at compèring concerts and galas, and is incredibly excited about hosting Ignite, which she has been attending for years. When not performing and teaching, Sasha can be found dancing, riding horses, and having a cwtch with her cats, Martini and Margarita and her Godbeagle, Bailey. She rarely posts on Instagram @sashatheothersop.
