About the speaker

Rania Vamvaka  is a Service Delivery Advisor (Develop) for the City of Cardiff Council Academy. Rania, originally from Athens, Greece, moved to the UK 5 years ago to pursue her MARes in Educational Research and her MSc in Educational Policy. Rania has been recently awarded the Cooperative Councils Innovation Network Award for her original idea to create Culture School Cardiff within the Academy. The Culture School will assist the newly arrived Syrian Refugees to make Wales their home, teach them about Welsh values, the Welsh way of life and assist with their peaceful integration. For years Rania has been a Red Cross International Volunteer working with people with physical and mental disabilities in Croatia, Ukraine and Moldova. Rania is a member of the European Youth Parliament and sits in the Committee of Employment and Social Affairs. In her free time she likes to take long hikes around Wales, read crime fiction, bake (and eat) lots of cakes.
