About the speaker
Tammi Owen is the Director of Heroes Rights, a community interest company that delivers interventions and services for men and women living with domestic abuse or displaying abusive behaviours. Tammi is a qualified psychotherapist and has spent the last 25 years working for Social Services, Probation, Criminal Justice, and the 3rd Sector. She is passionate about supporting the supporters and set up Heroes Rights Peer Network a few months ago to encourage cross-sector agencies to work collaboratively to achieve change. The Office of National Statistics states that 713,000 men reported being a victim in 2016/2017, and Tammi’s talk will look at the following: Where do men go to seek help? What are the pathways for support? How do you as a professional work with men? How do you support the people who work with men or women living with abuse?
