About Sophie Louisa Williams

Sophie Louisa Williams is a full-time Arctic Monkeys aficionado and part-time aspiring writer, with a particular penchant for playing pop music in response to every situation. She suffers from severe Generalised Anxiety Disorder, acute anxiety and symmetry-based Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (whew, that was a mouthful). Her life-long affinity with Arctic Monkeys has been her continuous coping mechanism, as their music has opiated her hyper-conscious, hyper-aware and hyper-sensitive mind much better than the nigh on useless forms of medication that she has been forcibly prescribed in the past. Arctic Monkeys, as in, Arctic Monkeys, the ones who caused a ruckus when they released I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor many moons ago, you say? Yes, contrary to their thunderous riffs, frenetic energy, and throbbing drum lines, their albums have been Sophie’s musical balm – nonsensical right? As such, their songs have soundtracked some of the most poignant, emotional and quite frankly, ridiculous moments of her formative years as she’s lost hours of sleep and hundreds of pounds to one band, but her ardent devotion for Arctic Monkeys has guided her through both convalescence and adolescence. She knows what you’re thinking, though – how on Earth has one band had such an impact on one person?
